Quick answer
Plan completion in four tracks instead of one giant checklist. The important timing answer is simple: finish ordinary cleanup before The Clash At Rendaino, then use Continue after the credits for anything left behind. You do not need to restart the whole game because one collectible was missed.
- Story and missions: follow Walkthrough and Missions.
- Locations and puzzles: use Collectibles.
- Dedicated sets: use Oni Armaments and Hidden Treasures.
- Platform challenges: use Achievements.
Completion route
| Stage | Player action | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Start a story segment | Read the objective and travel to the named area | Walkthrough |
| Enter a new area | Collect an item that is directly on the route; note detours | Collectibles |
| See a named mission | Check its task and reward before leaving | Missions |
| Find an armament or drawing | Follow the dedicated route instead of the general list | Oni Armaments / Hidden Treasures |
| Reach a challenge condition | Mark the platform goal and return after the story if needed | Achievements |
Before a consequential choice
Keep a separate save before a choice that names a route, mission reward, or character outcome when the game permits it. For ordinary missed pickups, continue the current objective and return through the open route; do not restart the campaign for one missing item.

Treat gates and transitions as checkpoints for checking the next collection or achievement task.
What completion does not require
You do not need to duplicate every item in every page. The route page owns progression, Collectibles owns locations, Items owns purpose and spending, and Achievements owns platform conditions. Following those boundaries keeps the checklist usable.
A realistic 100% roadmap
Treat completion as a sequence of manageable runs rather than one attempt to carry every requirement at once. A normal story run teaches the combat loop and opens the map. A cleanup pass uses the location pages to finish nearby pickups and dedicated sets. New Game Plus and Carnage are reserved for goals that explicitly need a later state, more resources, or a different difficulty.
| Run | Main purpose | What to carry into it |
|---|---|---|
| Story run | Learn combat, clear named objectives, and collect safe route items | Beginner Guide, Walkthrough, Missions, Combat |
| Story cleanup | Finish areas, missions, five Hidden Treasures, and six Oni Armaments | Collectibles, Hidden Treasures, Oni Armaments |
| Challenge cleanup | Finish platform conditions, boss attempts, Issen goals, and upgrade branches | Achievements, Bosses, Issen, Skills |
| New Game Plus | Complete later-run goals and spend resources that were not available earlier | Completion checklist and the exact remaining condition |
| Carnage or final pass | Handle difficulty-specific or endgame-only goals | Platform wording and a purpose-built loadout |
The game tracks a large collection set: 274 entries across Lion Dogs, Genma Notes, Chance Encounters, Mysteries, Oni Armaments, Hozuki Pouches, Charms, Power Stones, Oni Stones, Fine Silk Cloths, and Tamahagane. That count is a reason to use category pages, not a reason to restart every time one pickup is missed.
What carries into New Game Plus
New Game Plus opens after a story clear and is the route for Carnage. Treat it as a second planned run, not as a save state where every upgrade follows you forward.
| System | New Game Plus status | What to do before starting |
|---|---|---|
| Skills and Awakened Oni abilities | Carries over | Build the abilities you want available from the opening area. |
| Charms and Hozuki Pouches | Carries over, including their enhancements | Equip or improve the loadout you want for the harder run. |
| Items, offerings, Genma Notes, and Lion Dogs | Carries over | Do not recollect these solely because you started the new run. |
| Red Souls | Resets to zero | Spend useful Red Souls before the transition. |
| Story, side missions, Spirit Mirror progress, Mysteries, and Chance Encounters | Resets | Make a short list of goals that must be completed again. |
| Sword and gauntlet enhancements | Resets | Plan to rebuild equipment upgrades. |
| Equipment upgrade materials | Must be collected again | Do not reserve them for transfer; they do not follow the save. |
| Outfits | Carry-over unconfirmed | Check the completed-save transition before relying on a cosmetic transfer. |
Before committing to the new run, keep a completed save and check the transition screen. The most important preparation is spending Red Souls and understanding that equipment power must be rebuilt, while skills, charms, pouches, items, notes, and Lion Dogs remain available.
Final mission and post-credit cleanup
Use the final mission as a collection checkpoint, not as a deadline that permanently destroys the run. The safest stopping point is immediately before The Clash At Rendaino. Finish nearby side missions, open the five Hidden Treasure chests that are already available, and spend materials you want to use before entering the finale.
| Situation | Best action |
|---|---|
| You still have regional pickups or side missions | Clean them up before The Clash At Rendaino if the route is open. |
| You finished the story with items missing | Choose Continue from the main menu; the post-credit route returns you to the game before the final mission for cleanup. |
| Genma Note No. 23 is missing | Do not search the earlier areas. It is a post-story pickup behind Rokudo-chinnoji Temple. |
| You want a fresh harder run | Start New Game Plus only after deciding which later-run goals justify another campaign. It is not required for ordinary post-credit cleanup. |
This makes the order practical: collect what is on the current route, clear the story, use Continue for the remaining world checklist, and reserve New Game Plus or Carnage for goals that specifically need another run.
Before a point of no return
Before entering The Clash At Rendaino, stop at the Spirit Mirror and finish the nearby collection work you actually want to do. A separate save is useful if you want to retry a late choice, but it is not necessary for routine collectible cleanup because Continue provides a post-credit return point.
Use the following order when a run feels incomplete:
- Finish the immediate objective if the game still shows it as active.
- Return to the last area with an open route back.
- Compare the category count with the Collectibles page.
- Check the exact reward or location in the dedicated guide.
- Restart only when the route is genuinely closed or an achievement requires a fresh attempt.
The post-story collection pass
Start with the categories that have clear route anchors. Hidden Treasures use five drawing clues, while Oni Armaments have six named entries with their own routes and effects. Hozuki Pouches and Charms are useful to inspect together because both affect how comfortable the next cleanup run feels. Power Stones and Oni Stones should be counted separately; the latter are also used by special skills and armament planning.
Some entries are intentionally late. The final Genma Note is obtained after the story behind Rokudo-chinnoji Temple, and the Lion Dog and Mystery groups unlock only after What Lurks in Shadows. This means an apparently incomplete first-run count is not automatically a missed item. Check the gate condition before backtracking through every previous area.
Completion troubleshooting
| Problem | Most useful next check |
|---|---|
| A collection total is short by one | Confirm the category, then inspect the matching location page instead of the whole route |
| A reward is not in the inventory | Reopen the mission or reward context and check the Spirit Mirror after the objective resolves |
| An armament is missing | Compare the six-entry armament table and the mission/chest route |
| A treasure clue feels impossible | Match the landmark words in the drawing to the five Hidden Treasure entries |
| A skill branch cannot be bought | Check the prerequisite mission and whether the required stone type is Power or Oni |
| A late achievement is still locked | Check New Game Plus or Carnage wording before replaying the normal story |
The completion goal is a checklist with clear owners: story pages answer where to go, mission pages answer what to do and what is rewarded, collection pages answer where to look, and achievement pages answer what the platform is asking for.
Turn an incomplete run into a short cleanup list
For each missing entry, name one next action: revisit an area, complete a mission, buy an upgrade, attempt a boss condition, or start a later run. If the entry has no obvious action, identify whether it is a late gate, an unclaimed reward, or a condition owned by another page before replaying the story.
